R-85 Viscometer

  • Auto Lock mechanism
    This function automatically locks the rotor to protect the pivot shaft when measurement is finished. The mechanism allows easy attachment and removal of the rotor while protecting the bearing from damage, making it very easy to operate, even for first time users.
  • Zero Span setting function
    Calibration corrects for viscometer-to-viscometer variances - resulting in high accuracies which exceed catalog values.
  • Preheat / Auto Stop functions
    The Model R85 also features preheat and auto stop functions. The preheat feature operates also as an auto start function. Automatic viscometer operation can thus be obtained by combining the preheat and auto stop functions and the user can set startup and stop times at his discretion.
  • Data interchangeability
    Measurement data of the R85 viscometer conforms to JIS and ISO standards and is compatible with other Toki Sangyo cylindrical spindle and cone/plate viscometers.
  • Power interlock function
    The power interlock function ensures continued power until locking of the bearing is complete even when
    the viscometer is switched OFF during operation.
  • Rotation slow up/slow down
    Rotation speed changes are very smooth which prevents shock from being transmitted to the viscometer during measurement start, changes in speed, and measurement stop.
  • Alarm warnings and display
    Warning icons are displayed and an alarm is sounded when measurement data falls below 10% or exceeds
    100%.
  • Data recording
    A calendar function is incorporated in the R85 viscometer. In addition to measurement data recording, date, viscometer model, and other information can be printed out with a special printer.

Parallel-plate viscometer (spread meter)No.2288

The spread meter is one of methods for measuring fluidity of lithography and letterpress printing inks. This instrument is used to determine "spread" of ink. Test principle: a certain amount of ink is placed between two parallel plates, to deform the ink by dead weight of the plates. Along with time elapsed, the ink spreads in circular shape. With increase of the circular area, pressure applied on the ink decreases. After a certain length of time, the diameter of the spread ink is measured. Yield value is determined from the ink spreading speed.

Constant-area parallel-plate viscometer (improved model) No.2287

This is a high precision constant-area viscometer free of defects causing errors with the conventional glas-plate falling type viscometer. It uses a stainless steel rod instead of glass plate, with the support housing that holds the rod vertically, and the measurement table to receive the specimen. In measurement, the rod is dropped from a certain height, to read the change in ink thickness by a differential transformer, and the read value is converted to yield value by the formula. The temperature of the rod support housing and measurement table is kept constant by the jacket configuration in which hot water is circulated from the constant water temperature tank.

On pulling up the cup from the liquid, start the stopwatch to measure the time till the liquid is completely discharged from the cup. Vapor permeability tester No.2120

Packaging paper for a material to be kept dry must have a high resistance to vapor permeance. Vapor permeability is expressed by the mass of vapor that passes through a unit area of specimen at a certain temperature and a humidity. This tester measures the quantity of water transmission. Test procedure: put silica gel in an aluminum cup, and close the cup with a specimen; leave them at 400C, 90%RH for a certain span of time, to measure the mass (in grams) of vapor transmission. Vapor permeability is obtained by converting the measured result to a value per square meter of the specimen.

Compressed Air Flow Meter - T-CDI-5200-10S

The T-CDI-5200-10S is a flowmeter for compressed air systems. It measures flow by maintaining one probe warmer than the other. It calculates the mass velocity from the amount of heat required, and then calculates the flow on the basis of pipe area. This model fits 1" steel pipes.

Requires analog port selection during U30 system configuration and use of a S-FS-CVIA when using the H22-001 logger. When using a U12 logger, this sensor requires a 4-20mA input cable (CABLE-4-20mA).
